About us - a little background

This isn't the place to bore you with detailed biographies, so here is just a little bit of relevant context:

We are based in Carmarthenshire, Wales, close to the beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Much of our time is spent working in our garden and adjoining land. The software and web coding activity is now part-time and no longer run as a business, since downsizing some years ago. However, Plant Base continues to be actively developed and supported on a best effort basis, along with other programs and websites.

We have a background in professional gardening and ran our own garden design, construction and maintenance business. The original Plant Base was created as an in-house productivity tool for preparing planting proposals and documentation. Before that we had both worked in mainstream IT for many years.

Our passion for plants and gardens is an aspect of long-held interest and respect for the natural world. We greatly value the landscape around us and try our best to help conserve it.
